Residents in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Residents or recent graduates of approved programs in obstetrics and gynecology are eligible to become ACOG Junior Fellows. Junior Fellow membership is available to residents who reside in an ACOG District. Learn more about ACOG Districts & Sections.

To be a Junior Fellow, you must have:

  • Current participation in an approved residency in obstetrics and gynecology, or successful completion of such program within 8 years from the end of the candidate's residency
  • Immediate and continued limitation of professional activities, exclusively, to obstetrics and/or gynecology
  • Attainment of high ethical and professional standing

Processing of completed applications may take up to three weeks. After approval has been granted, Junior Fellows are admitted and notified by email. Check your application status

Required Documentation

Applications must include:

  • Proof of Residency through enrollment in a participating CREOG Program or upload of completed and signed Residency Verification Form (English | Spanish)
  • Proof of Medical License, if applicable, including issuance information and document upload

Additional Information

All active graduating Junior Fellows in Training/Residency are automatically rolled into the Junior Fellow in Practice category upon completion of their training/residency program. Junior Fellows in Practice will be billed in October for the upcoming year’s dues.  

Please keep in mind that the initials FACOG may not be used by a Junior Fellow.

Board certification exams and the Case List Summary are not handled by ACOG. Please contact the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) for information. The contact number is (214) 871-1619.

Residents in Family Medicine

Family medicine residents currently enrolled in a residency program in the United States may apply to be an Associate Member Resident.

  • Proof of Residency through upload of completed and signed Residency Verification Form
  • Proof of Medical License, if applicable, including issuance information and document upload
